Life is...FAST, FASTTRAK!!!

Life goes by so FAST; how many of you have had an experience this year where an event that you thought was far away all of a sudden was right in front of you? Life goes by so fast right? We have had too many of these experiences and many more coming up this year (X-Games, Moto GP Laguna Seca, US Open of Surfing) that it got me to thinking: Are we so busy with work and "life" that we don't find or make the time to do those things that we've always wanted to try?
I recently began working with one of our sponsored DJ's and good friend DJ Super Mario mixing and creating music; one of the biggest passions in my life. As a HUGE fan of all genres of music (except country, hahaha) this is an amazing and unique opportunity to learn something brand new, something that I could really be good at because I enjoy it so much. I had to make the time however; because the FAST paced society we live in gives us less and less chances to make it happen. Initiative, passion, and creativity are the keys to this; so ask yourself: What would you like to learn/create/experience? I would love to hear your thoughts.

The next one up for me is learning how to ride a dirtbike AND streetbike properly without ending up in the hospital...again. It's a good thing that Fasttrak sponsors professional riders; who better to learn from?

The Secret To Referral Marketing Made Easy

The Secret To Referral Marketing Made Easy

Riding Dirty

This week was BRP's Ultimate Playground Demo Days.  Thanks to our good friend Kevin McPherson, we got to test out all the super cool toys- the Can-Am Spyder, Sea Doos, Side by Sides, Quads... Some of us at Fasttrak are veteran riders, but I am not.  Kevin, however, refused to let me leave without getting on everything.  I have a fear of water craft but I jumped on anyway.  I went a whopping 11 miles an hour!!! I thought that was pretty good for my first time.

One of our marketing managers was also present.  He decided to take a little more freedom with the watercraft boundaries that were set out for demo riders.  He sped off passed the buoys and through thicket far beyond the confines of the "course" laid out for riders.  Kevin had to send TWO of his employees after him.  Finally, after a few minutes of chasing him, he was brought back in.  He looked like he was in a daze.  We don't know what was wrong with him exactly, but it was 4-20... haha.  I was a tad mortified, especially when the upper-up looked pissed.  But, as Frank says- all publicity is good publicity. Even dumb publicity!  Everyone will remember Fasttrak was there one way or another.

That was just one part of my day at the demo.  I was lucky enough to have Kevin as my "driver" :)  He made me get on a Commander,a quad and a spyder.  I'm sure whether he was actually going fast, but it seemed like we were going faster than one should on those things.  I was petrified the entire time!  But in retrospect, it was so much fun. I'm glad Kevin made me do it!!

Bryan, sales director with Feld Entertainment (Supercross/Monster Jam/ Nuclear Cowboyz), met up with me at the demo day.  I don't think he expected to get dirty that day... but unfortunately, his nice light blue shirt was splashed with mud compliments of his ATV ride with Kevin hahaha I am sure the fun made up for the mud.
Later in the day, Pablo, owner of Del Amo Motorsports, showed up in his helicopter.  Some people thought someone had hurt themselves and the Air Medics were there to lift them out.  But no, it was only Pablo landing his awesome red helicopter.  I must admit, once I get a chopper, it will replace my car and you better believe I will be taking it wherever I can! :)

I chose the right day to go to the Ultimate Playground.  No crowds and personal attention.  Just how I like things.  I want to say thanks again to Kevin McPherson at BRP.  He not only took care of Fasttrak, but of our friends David Chu (Spyder-Rentals.com) and Brandon Moody (Smart Levels Media).  I highly recommend attending a demo day if you've never been to one.  I will be going back for the next one (sans our marketing manager).

Key Questions In INSURANCE Sales Closing

Hello again WTF! (What The Fasttrak!) Followers,

I recently sent this message to our sales and marketing staff in email form; let me know your thoughts!

When speaking to a customer on the phone these two questions/techniques will greatly increase your closing ratio (excuse the sales grammar)
:

  1. If you hadn’t called me who would you be going through today? This question not only gets the customer to readily tell you who but usually how much!
  2. If I can find you a great product and rate that you like I can earn your business today, RIGHT? This question locks in the serious buyer, what can they say other than yes to such a reasonable question?

Make sure that you are using these techniques in the sales process once you begin building rapport (that’s how you spell it) with your customer. ASSUME this is your new customer; when you employ these techniques effectively they will be. GO ONE STEP FURTHER AND PACKAGE THEIR INSURANCE PRODUCTS FOR THEM BY OFFERING THEM VALUE IN THE CROSS-SELL PROCESS.

Remember, statistics show that by having two or more policies on the books for your clients you effectively lock them in for years; take good care of them, offer value, and MOST IMPORTANT: Sell YOURSELF!!

ABC...Always Be Closing!

What a long strange week it been...(It's only Thursday)

Life at Fasttrak has been hectic as of late; our weekday's have become our new weekends since our "shows" season has started. Monday night we were treated to an honest to goodness old-school hip hop show at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. For those of you who have been there you know how small, intimate, and unique the venue is. Talib Kweli was the headliner, formerly one half of Black Star with Mos Def. He had a great stage presence and played many of his old hits along with a few choice cuts off of his new album Gutter Rainbows. Fashawn opened up the show and kicked it off right! Thanks to 8 Bar for the t-shirts; good luck with your clothing line!
If Monday is the new Friday here then Tuesday must be the new Saturday; that's the only way that I can explain how we ended up at Disneyland on such short notice last night. Such a random night of fun and we checked the Blue Bayou Restaurant inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride off of our bucket list. The food (meh), the service (meh), but at the end of the day it's still DISNEYLAND!
Tomorrow...continue with our momentum, (we're going viral baby!) and Allied meetings up in Universal City since I lost the coin toss. HAPPY SELLING!! - Frank @ Fasttrak

Dinner at Downtown LA's Rivera Restaurant

Last week, we dined at Rivera with good friends.  It was a great time.  Frank called in ahead of time to let Diego, the owner/chef, know that we'd be coming in but Diego was out that night.  Instead, Joe took care of us.  And not a beat was skipped.  Dish after dish, we became more and more impressed with the caliber of the food.  We started with the Argentine Mushroom Carpaccio and the Piquillos Rellenos; followed by the Bolivian Anticuchos and Tortillas Florales.  Then we enjoyed thinly sliced fresh fish and octopus  Oh but there's more... we then had our entrees... These were as surprising as the appetizers: Duck enfrijolada, Scallops, and pork shoulder.  I could go on and on, but there is nothing like first "taste" experience to truly emphasize how awesome this restaurant is.  After the Laker game that night, we actually came back for more! We topped our night off with dessert:  Passionfruit ice cream, topped with what appeared to be vanilla bean whipped cream and habanero powder.  The ice cream itself was an experience.  The cool thing is, this restaurant has more than just great food to offer.  If you're a tequila drinker, it has a wide variety of tequila drinks, like for instance: Barbaco-tequila, chipotle, bell pepper, ginger, hickory smoked jerky. Sounds gnarly, right?  But tastes good.  It also offers a great wine menu.

Go to Rivera.  Enjoy it.  Then hit a Laker game across the street.
